2025 – Competitions

To enter the following competitions, you must be registered with the British Crown Green Bowling Association.

The BCGBA Centenary Mixed Pairs

This competition is open to partnerships of one female player and one male player.

The Qualifying Day is Sunday 27 July, starting at 11am. The venue is TBA but will be at a Club in Cheshire.

The Final will be held on Saturday 4 October at Llay Miners, starting at 10am.

Entry Fee: £10 per pair.

Veterans Individual Merit

Open to men and women who have attained the age of 60 years.

Wednesday 11 June 2025 at 10-30am at Farndon Bowling Club.

Entry Fee: £3

Entry Form. Entries must be received by 18 May.

Dress Code For Competitions

Per BCGBA rules:

2 (a) Shirts: Must be collared, with sleeves. (Note: our Club polos conform to the rules).

3 (a) Trousers: These shall be black or navy, single colour, full-length tailored trousers, tailored shorts (knee length), skirts (knee length), tailored cropped trousers and straight trousers.

3 (b) Nothing in the above rule shall be interpreted to allow wearing tracksuits, shell suits, denim, combat trousers, jeggings or skinny jeans. External pockets on the legs are not permissible.

4 Where necessary, and in accordance with the pertaining weather conditions, sweaters which conform to the above and/or wet weather gear may be worn (correct dress must be worn under wet gear).

A Note About The Cheshire Senior Merit

As you know, B&P is hosting the Final of the Cheshire Senior Merit on Saturday 14 June. This competition is open to all men who possess both BCGBA and Cheshire Life Membership cards.

HOWEVER because we are hosting the Final the rules do not allow B&P members to enter the Competition.

14. No player shall be allowed to play on a green of any Club of which he is a playing member. Any violation of this rule will entail disqualification. Definition of a playing member: “One who pays a subscription to a Bowling Club or to a Bowling Section of a Social Club or is a member of an organisation which utilises the green of such Club or Section”.

ALL GROUPS
