A group of us headed up to Arnside for a mini-break this week (Thursday to Saturday). Our final outdoor Social of the season went well. Len & Mark came first with 37 points, John & Brian were second with 36 and Rod & David P were third with 33. Thanks to Lindy for hosting.
Many congrats to Kath who won the Ellesmere Port & District Ladies Bowling League Millennium Shield ‘Open’ Competition. The competition was held at George Street on Tuesday 24 September.
Well, we were incredibly lucky with the weather. It stayed dry and mostly sunny for the whole of the Social. We had a great Club Game & Fish Supper last Monday. It was dry and not too cold for the match organised by captains Kath (Team Fingers) and Margie (Team Thumbs). Sixteen singles matches of 15 ends were played and the Fingers emerged victorious – 163 to 134. The fish & chips afterwards were delicious. … Read more
After all the rain we had this week, yesterday’s social was blessed with good weather. Thirty-five people turned out to bowl and we played two rounds of doubles. It was overcast, but the rain held off yesterday afternoon. We had a good turnout and played doubles but with random pairings for each round and the scoring was individual.
